Veneers are often described as tooth-coloured shells that are applied to the outer side of the teeth to improve their appearance. How Veneers Work

Veneers are extremely thin and are custom created to fit over the outer side of your tooth or teeth (the visible side). Acting like a cover, each veneer is fitted to your tooth. Depending on the type of veneers you choose and the shape and size of your teeth, a portion of the natural tooth enamel may need to be removed to accommodate the veneer. This will occur in the first appointment, after which your dentist will take a mold of your prepped teeth and send them to the dental laboratory where your veneers will be created. During your second appointment, the veneers will be fitted and firmly cemented into place.
